Owen Hicks
Many people come to therapy feeling weighed down by stress, self-doubt, or recurring challenges they can’t seem to break free from. In our work together, I aim to help you make sense of the beliefs, thoughts, and expectations that shape your experiences, relationships, and emotional well-being. Together, we can explore new ways of relating to yourself and others with the goal of creating space for growth, resilience, and meaningful change. My approach blends evidence-based strategies such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), with a focus on insight, self-compassion, and practical skills.
I strive to create a safe, supportive environment where you feel heard, respected, and understood. Whether you are navigating anxiety, depression, stress, insomnia, trauma, or relationship difficulties, I tailor our work to your unique needs and goals. CBT offers concrete tools for shifting unhelpful thinking and behaviour patterns, while ACT helps us cultivate psychological flexibility - the ability to live a values-driven life, even in the presence of challenges.
I am currently a Ph.D. Candidate in Clinical Psychology at Western University, where I also earned my master’s degree. I completed my undergraduate degree in psychology at Queen’s University. In my clinical work, I have supported adolescents and adults across diverse backgrounds and concerns, and I am passionate about helping clients move toward lives that feel more balanced, connected, and fulfilling.
